Crystal Beach Terns - Caspian Terns & Common Terns

17¾ inches wide x 10 inches high

I had the opportunity to visit the Bolivar Penninsula and Crystal Beach just north of Galveston, Texas, during spring migration and the entire experience was absolutely fascinating! Everywhere I looked was birdlife on the tidal flats just screaming to be sketched for a future painting. These terns were a study in behavior - and “hairdos.”
