“Sometimes you get lucky. That’s all I can say when we found this roosting Barn Owl in a bare cottonwood on a cold February morning. Was it asleep as we drove up and stopped to grab some photos? Probably not totally - although the eyes remained shut we noticed that the bare patch between the eyes shifted, telling us that the owl’s ears were working.”
